Portions of Texas 288 in south Houston were shut down
early Friday morning after a woman died when a sport utility vehicle
The single-vehicle wreck happened about 2:15 a.m. on the southbound South Freeway near Orem, according to the Houston Police Department.

The driver and the other passenger were rushed to a nearby hospital. Details of their injuries and conditions were not released.
