Passenger hits tree, dies in DWI wreck on Richmond
A 29-year-old woman faces charges after a fatal crash that involved sideswiping a Houston police cruiser, ramming into a tree and driving through lanes of oncoming traffic early Sunday, authorities said.
The police vehicle was making a right turn when that vehicle was struck from behind by a silver Ford Taurus. The Taurus' driver, later identified as Dubor, lost control and drove across the tree-lined median on Richmond. Dubor's sedan struck a tree and continued across traffic before stopping in a parking lot, Silva said.
Police said Dubor's 22-year-old passenger, Aresha Griffin, may have hit her head on a tree. She died at the accident scene.
