Man killed crossing Tomball Parkway
A pedestrian trying to cross a northwest Harris County highway was killed early Saturday morning after being struck by multiple cars.
Vinubhai Amin was found dead in the 11700 block of the Tomball Parkway after being hit by four cars around 3 a.m, said Harris County Sheriff's Office spokesman Thomas Gilliland. He said Amin was wearing dark colored clothing and not using a designated cross walk.
The area where he tried to cross was quite dark, Gilliland added.
Trying to get from the west side of the parkway to the east, Amin was hit by a Ford F-150 pick-up truck traveling south and thrown into north-bound traffic, where he was struck by three other vehicles.
Deputies took statements from the drivers of the vehicles and are investigating the accident, Gilliland said.
It is too early to know if anyone will face criminal charges, authorities said.
