A husband and wife face charges for drunk driving and tampering with evidence after a Saturday morning collision that killed a motorcycle rider.

Kira Lebedzinski, 26, was driving a 2005 Cadillac in the 12400 block of State Highway 249 about 10 a.m., according to a press release from the Harris County Sheriff's Office. Lebedzinski failed to give motorcyclist Artemio Castillo the right of way as she turned left and the rider crashed into her front right panel.

Castillio, who was traveling to work, died at the scene.

Lebedzinski was drinking with her husband prior to the crash and was charged with intoxicated manslaughter, according to the release.

After the collision, she called her husband Richard Gonzalez, 28, to the scene.

He attempted to remove the Cadillac from the scene but was stopped by onlookers, the release said.

Gonzalez was also found to be an intoxicated driver and was arrested for tampering with evidence and first offense DWI.

The case remains under investigation by the Harris County Sheriff's Office Traffic Enforcement Division.
