HPD cars collide in NE Houston
Two police officers were taken to the hospital after their squad cars collided in a traffic wreck in northeast Houston Tuesday morning.
Cannon said an officer who was driving alone in one of the patrol cars, rear ended the other patrol unit. He was rushed to Memorial Hermann-The Texas Medical Center. Cannon said he had an injury to his neck.
One of the two officers who were in the car that was hit also was taken to Memorial Hermann-The Texas Medical Center. He complained of neck and back pain. The third officer was not hurt.
Cannon said details about the wreck were still unclear and investigators were trying to determine what led to the collision. It is unclear if one or both of the squad cars was on an emergency call at the time of the crash.
