Driver misses brake, hits woman, lands in Houston pond
The Harris County Sheriff's Office is investigating an incident in which a male of unknown age drove a vehicle into a pond after accidentally hitting the accelerator instead of the brake.
The incident happened about 2:20 p.m. at Alexander Deussen Park in northeast Harris County.
The male was not injured, a sheriff's office spokeswoman said.
As the vehicle went through the grass toward the pond, it struck a woman, whose injuries were not life-threatening, the spokeswoman said.
Emergency medical services were called as crews tried to get the vehicle out of the water, she said.
