Child dies in horrific car crash
A guardrail pierced through a car in a crash that left a little girl dead and a woman injured, according to reports on Tuesday.
The woman was driving along a curve on Old Houston Road, just south of Texas 242 in the Conroe area, when she lost control of her car and crashed, the Montgomery County Police Reporter and KPRC say. Investigators tell KPRC the woman, believed to be the child's mother, was driving too fast.
A guardrail went through the car, trapping a 4-year-old girl who was in a safety seat in the backseat. After crews pulled her from the wreckage, she was taken to Conroe Regional Medical Center, the Police Reporter says. She died of her injuries.
The woman was also taken to Conroe Regional, according to the Police Reporter, and is in critical condition.
The victims have not been identified.
