Boy seriously injured in Texas City rollover crash
GALVESTON — A 7-year-old boy suffered life-threatening injuries when
the car in which he was riding rolled over in Texas City, police said
Wednesday. His two younger siblings were also injured.
The children were riding with their mother and two adults when the
car rolled over on Texas 146 at Attwater Avenue shortly before 4:50
p.m., Goetschius said.
Goetschius said the mother smelled of alcohol and a sample of her
blood was drawn for testing. Police believe the two youngest children, a
1-year-old girl and a 2-year-old boy, were in car seats. They were
taken by ambulance to UTMB for treatment of non-life-threatening
injuries, Goetschius said.
The names of the mother, the children and the two adult passengers and their hometowns were not immediately available, he said.
