Around the area & state: Fatally wounded driver hits southeast side home
A man crashed his truck into a southeast Houston home Thursday night after he had been fatally shot, police said.
The resident who lived at the home in the 1700 block of Napoleon was not injured.
The driver was identified as 47-year-old Chris Roberts of Houston. He died at Ben Taub General Hospital.
Police said Roberts drove his pickup truck to the 3400 block of
Pease, an area known for narcotics transactions. Roberts stopped outside
vacant houses and was approached by a group of males.
After talking with one of them, Roberts started to drive away.
One of the males then fired at Roberts' truck, striking him.
Roberts later crashed his truck in the house on Napoleon.
