Four men killed after truck hits curb, rolls over
Four young men are dead and another is in critical condition after their truck rolled over after the driver lost control, officials said.
Five men who police believe were in their late teens to early 20s, were driving down the 10500 block of the Eastex Freeway around 2:50 a.m. Sunday morning, according to the Houston Police Department.
The driver of the blue Ford pickup was travelling southbound when he swerved from his lane and struck a curb, causing the vehicle to roll over, police said.
The driver and two passengers were pronounced dead at the scene. Two other passengers were taken to Ben Taub General Hospital. One of the patients was later pronounced dead and the other remains in critical condition.
Their identities are pending verification. Pending toxicology results will determine whether or not alcohol played a role.
