2 injured when driver smashes into SW Houston building
Two people were sent to the hospital late Wednesday morning after a car crashed into a building in southwest Houston.
The incident occurred about 10:20 a.m. at 8727 W. Bellfort near South Gessner, according to the Houston Police Department.
Police said a driver and her friend, along with that woman's two children, pulled up to a plasma donation center. The driver got out and went into the center.
Then, police said, the other woman drove away on an errand. When she came back, she pulled into a parking space, but the car sped forward and smashed into the center.
Police said two people who were inside the center were taken to a nearby hospital as a precaution. Details of their possible injuries and condition were not released. No other injuries were reported.
Police said the woman who crashed into the center was cited for failure to maintain speed.
