Victims in fatal Friday wreck identified
SANTA FE — The victims of a Friday night traffic accident on state Highway 6 have been identified.
Sharon Zakkizadeh, 65, of Santa Fe and Joseph Seymour, 58, were declared dead at the scene, Santa Fe Police Department Capt. Wayne Kessler said.
About 7:15 p.m., Charles Orsak, 29, of Santa Fe was driving a 2000 Chevrolet west in the 16600 block of state Highway 6 when he struck Zakkizadeh’s 1995 Jeep from the rear, Kessler said.
The crash caused the Jeep to roll, and Zakkizadeh was thrown from the vehicle, Kessler said.
The Jeep then crossed into oncoming traffic and rolled onto a 1991 Honda driven by Seymour, trapping him inside, Kessler said.
Orsak was taken by air ambulance to a UTMB hospital, where he was listed in stable condition Saturday, Kessler said.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing, and there is no indication that alcohol was a cause of the wreck, Kessler said.
Officers from League City and Galveston County deputies assisted at the scene.
