Several cars strike body on Southwest Freeway
A man was struck and killed by a vehicle on the Southwest Freeway on Sunday morning, and several more vehicles ran over the body without stopping, police said.
An officer found the body at 3 a.m. on U.S. 59 near the West Loop exit and called it in. Using his patrol car, he shielded the scene until investigators arrived, blocking the freeway for more than hour to collect evidence.
It's estimated that six cars hit the body and didn't stop, said a spokesman with the Houston Police Department's vehicular crimes division.
The victim's identity was not yet available.
