Humble driver, 19, charged after fatal accident
A Humble motorist faces a felony charge in connection with the death of a passenger in his vehicle that crashed last month in northeast Harris County, according to the Harris County District Attorney's Office.
Harris County sheriff's deputies said that Arnold was driving eastbound in the 2300 block of FM 1960 at a high rate of speed and swerving in and out of traffic when his Dodge Stratus sedan entered the westbound lanes of traffic. Investigators said Arnold was driving 80 to 100 mph in a posted 50 mph zone.
Arnold lost control of the sedan, which veered off the roadway and overturned in a ditch. Taylor was ejected from the vehicle and died, according to investigators.
Bystanders helped Arnold to climb out of the overturned vehicle, and he was transported to an area hospital. He failed a field sobriety test, and a blood analysis by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences determined that the suspect had Xanas and marijuana in his system, according to an arrest warrant filed Oct. 18.
