Spring man charged with felony DWI
A 34-year-old Spring man has been charged with felony driving while intoxicated in a woman's death early Saturday.
Initially reported as an auto-pedestrian accident, the incident involved a late-model silver Jeep Wrangler, but it was unclear Saturday how the 28-year-old woman died, Escobar said.
The accident remained under investigation by both constable's office deputies and Harris County Sheriff's Office homicide detectives, Escobar said.
"They don't believe she was struck by the car, or else they would have filed intoxication manslaughter (charges)," he said. "We know alcohol had something to do with it."
Stanford and the woman apparently had some sort of argument, Escobar said.
The woman died at Memorial Hermann Hospital.
