Two people riding an ATV were injured when they collided with a sport utility vehicle Thursday night in west Harris County.

The crash happened about 10 p.m. on Kieth Harrow near Queenston, according to the Harris County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies
said the ATV riders were thrown about 20 feet upon impact. They were
taken to a nearby hospital after a LifeFlight medical helicopter was
dispatched to the scene.

The people's names as well as details of their injuries and conditions were not released.

It was unclear what led to the crash. However, deputies said it is illegal to drive ATVs on public streets.
